The
Fund Assessment Board plays an important role both in developing the investment
strategies of all Deutsche Finance group
funds and in the selection process for target institutional funds. The Fund
Assessment Board advises the senior management of Deutsche Institutional Advisors GmbH in the course of the
investment processes and has currently two external highly competent and independent
members with many years of experience in the field of institutional capital
investments, in particular for portfolio formation and management.
Heimo
Leopold
began his professional career as a management
trainee at Commerzbank AG. After that he went into industry, where between 1975
and 2009 he worked for a number of companies as a senior officer in the
financial area. In his last position he was the head of asset management of the
E.ONgroup, with responsibilityfor more than €20 bn. Mr Leopold has many years of experience
in a range of aspects of finance, e.g. financing, capital investment,
acquisitions and risk management. Among other activities he was concerned with the
structure and allocation of institutional funds, developing the organisation of
asset management, and also risk control, accounting and reporting. In this
connection he was responsible for the conception and creation of a portfolio of
more than 60 institutional real estate, infrastructure and Private Equity
funds, with investments made throughout the world totalling approximately €2.5 bn.
Dr
John Davidson
began his professional career as a member of the
Private Equity team "Alternative Funds Advisory" of UBS
Global Asset Management in
Zurich, where he was employed until 2005. After that, as vice-president of indirect
capital investments for Swiss Re AG, he
created and developed a global portfolio consisting of 27 institutional real
estate funds with a total value of more than CHF 1.4 bn.
Among other activities he was responsible
for the selection of target funds, coordination of due diligence analyses and portfolio
management and also represented Swiss Re
on the Advisory Board. Since the autumn of 2009 Dr Davidson has been head of
the real estate programme of the Finance & Banking faculty of the
University of Lucerne.
Dirk
Schekerka
began his career
as a qualified bank clerk at a financial services institution in Hamburg. A
subsequently completed university degree in Economic and Commercial Studies, as
well as successes achieved and experience acquired in his professional field,
had, by 1987, further qualified him to the point where he could take on leading
roles in various consultancy enterprises and private equity firms (Angermann
Consulting Group, Granville Baird Capital Partners). Since 2002 Dirk Schekerka
has been with one of the leading european PE-Funds in Munich (from 2007 on as Managing
Director) bearing responsibility there for the execution of private-equity
transactions and for the support and development of portfolio
business in all the German-speaking countries. He also presently holds
positions on the Supervisory or Advisory Boards of various medium-sized
enterprises both within and outside Germany.
